Lary
Seven is a true hero of NYC's underground intermedia arts. He is a co-founder
of Direct Art Ltd. and its phonographic splinter, Plastikville Records. Recently
he has been seen performing with a couple of only slightly prepared washing
machines.
"Directart Productions Ltd. began in the dark, desperate years of the early-1980s
as a vehicle for its principals to create films, videos, recordings, live performances
and sound installations. It Failed. It tried to examine the stupidity of mindless
celebrity worship. It Failed. It tried to expose the idiocy of commercial propaganda
(rock videos, commercials, advertising-wear). It Failed. Its attempts at disemboweling
"popular culture" of its utter banality have all totally failed."
